BAND CAMP PICK-UP and PARENT PREVIEW DETAILS
We’ve had a terrific week at Band Camp! The kids have learned so much and absolutely can’t wait to show you. Building a field show from ground up can be exhausting but you’ll be blown away when you see what these amazing students have accomplished in one week at Band Camp.
CHECK YOUR TEXTS: We will be using the Remind system to make last minute announcements and schedule changes. For example, it is summer in NC and last minute storms are almost always a possibility. For Friday night’s performance and camp pick up, we would like to be able to use the Remind system to keep you informed of any last minute changes. For this to be an effective communication tool in marching season, we need to ensure that parents and students are receiving the Remind communications. A Remind announcement will be sent sometime before tomorrow. If you DO NOT receive this message, please, email remind@athensdriveband.com and include the following information:
Your first and last name
Student’s name and section
Parent Cell Phone number
When you get the invitation to join the group, simply reply “YES”. For more information, visit:

FRIDAY NIGHT: The ENTIRE band will be performing at 7:00 pm Friday night on the Wesleyan College practice field we have been using all week — it’s on the south side of campus and is visible from Route 301 (as you drive into campus, turn left at the fountain) at Wesleyan College. Parents are encouraged to arrive on campus after 6:00 pm. There’s no seating at the field so be sure to bring a chair. AFTER the performance, students will be dismissed to retrieve their luggage from the storage area and go home.
SMUG MUG: Several of our wonderful photographers and our amazing Band Camp Chaperones have been busy documenting our week in photos. These photos are free to download for your personal use. Check out all the SmugMug photos on the website:

You should be soooooo proud of your kids and all they have accomplished this week. They have given their all, learned a ton, bonded as family, and most of all, had a blast every step along the way. No doubt — they are exhausted, ready for a good night’s sleep in their beds, and craving their normal foods. Although they learned a lot of new marching maneuvers and music this week, the most important lessons occur off the field as the kids grow and mature, transforming each one through the life lessons taught daily in this amazing band program.
See you Friday night!
