Hi Band Family! I hope everyone is looking forward to a nice long holiday weekend! Just a few updates on Band Camp:
1. Set up: We are planning to set up at NC Wesleyan at 10 AM (tentatively) on July 24th and need as many extra hands as possible, so please let me know if you can come help so we can get a good roster and come up with a game plan. Once I have a good list, I plan on assigning “team tasks” to get as much done as possible before it gets too hot. Also, let me know if there is something, in particular, you like to do (i.e., tents, marking fields) so we can plug you into the right group!
2. Early arrivals for set up: There are several volunteers planning on staying Saturday night and helping Sunday morning as well and that is great! If anyone else would like to join that group, please let us know ASAP so we have enough rooms. If you are staying for the week, we will try and put you in the room you will be in for camp.
Also, there are some band students (or other older siblings) who are interested in coming early to spend the night and help with set up. Students interested in spending Saturday night will need pre-approval and MUST BE ACCOMPANIED OVERNIGHT BY AT LEAST ONE PARENT. The parent is responsible for them at all times on Saturday and Sunday prior to the standard afternoon band check-in. We will be winging it for meals so be aware of that as well and make sure your kids know we are there to work (although it will be lots of fun)!
3. Big Blue: We will be loading the truck on Friday the 23rd at 5:30 PM from the cage so we will need at least 8-10 folks to help. We will have everything pre-staged in the band hallway so this should go relatively quickly. Ken will pick up early Saturday morning and meet us there.
More info to come but let us know ASAP if you can come for set up and/or plan on staying the night!
