Camp Forms are Due

Hello Marching Band Families!

Happy Summer! We are busy making preparations for band camp and regular season activities. To make sure you are ready for the season, mark your calendars with all the summer rehearsal dates. Important fall dates have also been set. Percussion (ADP) and Color Guard (CG) practices start in June – if you are participating in ADP or CG and not receiving email updates, please email

Full marching band practices begin with Pre-Camp starting Monday, July 25th. All the dates can be found by clicking HERE.

Please see the checklists below to aid you in your pre-season preparations. More detailed information about what to bring to band camp will be sent later in July. To ensure a smooth start to the upcoming season, items should be addressed as follows:

IMMEDIATELY (6/17 deadline has passed) Many of these forms have not been turned in. If you have not completed these forms, please do so now. **Email ALL scanned forms to president** Phone snapshots work as well!

_____ WCPSS Parental Consent & Student Medical Information. The school nurse MUST review this form before your student goes to camp. The form can be found by clicking HERE.

_____ Health Insurance Card – Please send a front and back copy of your student’s health insurance card along with the Parental Consent & Student Medical Information form.

_____ WCPSS Parent Request & Physician’s Order for Medication If you want your child to have prescription medication at camp (whether self-carry or not), please also fill out and return this form with the Parental Consent & Student Medical Information form. The form can be found by clicking HERE.

_____ WCPSS Student Photo Permission Form The form can be found by clicking HERE.

_____ Food Allergies and other Dietary Restrictions – The cafeteria at Wesleyan College offers a wide variety of foods, easily accommodating most diets. We would be happy to share menus with parents during pre-camp if there are any specific concerns. Food allergies and diet restrictions should have been noted on your registration form. If you have changes or questions, please email them with subject line: FOOD & DIET to president@athensdriveband.com as soon as possible so that we can properly plan for meals and snacks.

______ WCPSS High School Athletic Participation Form This form should be signed by a physician (only submit if you are a new band member or you’ve had a significant change to your health status) and can be found by clicking HERE.

DURING PRE-CAMP WEEK

_____ Pre-Camp Parent Meeting – Tuesday, July 26th at 6:45 p.m. in the band room. At the meeting, we will be going over the final details for camp and answering any questions you might have. Please make every effort to attend!

_____ Donations: Towels, sunscreen, bug spray. While you are cleaning out closets over the summer, please save your old towels for the band. We need lots of old towels to dry off instruments and other equipment, especially if we have wet weather. Band camp is hot, sunny and buggy! We’d like for everyone to bring their own sunscreen and bug spray, but inevitably we will need more! Any donations are very much appreciated!
