Dear Athens Drive Marching Band students and parents,

1) As anticipated, the home football schedule has been edited due to the religious observance of Good Friday. The 3 home games will be scheduled as follows:

Friday, March 19th beginning at 6:30pm (note the earlier start)

Thursday, April 1st beginning at 6:30pm (this was originally Friday, April 2nd, but that is Good Friday)

Friday, April 9th beginning at 6:30pm (this was originally Thursday, April 8th -I think they thought that Good Friday was the 9th…lol)

As for attendance at football games, it is likely that only specified chaperones and field crew will be permitted to accompany the band; however, I am told that Athens will be “live streaming” the games so you can enjoy the band from the comfort of your home! (Please note that I fully expect you to be dancing when we play “Hey Baby” and other hits of the 1960s and 1970s -when music was really good).

2) I would like to propose that we have our “Family Performance” on Friday, April 16th: 6:00-6:45 performance for freshman/sophomore families; 7:15-8:00 performance for junior/senior families and senior recognition. This performance is for immediate family only as we are not permitted to have more than 100 guests in the stadium. If this policy changes, we will make amendments. We’ll be sending more instructions as the date draws nearer. Please let me know ASAP if this date cannot work for you and your family…we will amend it if necessary; however, I do not want to draw out the season too long.
