There was no need at all for us to “Weather the Weather” today – it was a perfect 1st day for Band Camp. Slight breezes, no intense heat & a very pleasant evening for practice!
As always the pre-camp set up was remarkable – everything we needed, where it was needed & much more besides – thanks to all of our Operations Team……& the months of preparation by our Co-Presidents was obvious, plus they have enlisted a great group of Chaperones to help with everything this week – so rest assured your students are in great hands!
Check in, move in & settling in all went smoothly & before you knew it, our band family were all eating their subway dinner (with all the “fixin’s”) together at the Dunn Centre. Doc welcomed everyone and, as always, his enthusiasm for the week ahead was infectious.
Then the work began & off to the practice fields we went! It was the perfect temperature for marching…let’s hope it stays this way! More rehearsals inside & then at 10pm the “get to know you” games began & fun was had by all. After ending on a particularly “high energy” game, milk & cookies were served & the students finally headed to their room to rest ready for tomorrow at camp.
The weather report for how today went would certainly be “sunny”!
