Hello Band Families!

What an awesome week we’ve had! The students have worked so hard and we are very excited to show you all they have achieved so far.

It’s astonishing to think they started putting this together only 5 days ago – you will be amazed to see just how far they have come.

FRIDAY NIGHT DETAILS: The ENTIRE band will march to the the practice field (south side of campus-look for Big Blue) ready to perform at 7pm. Please plan to arrive on campus after 6pm. There’s no seating at the field so be sure to bring a chair & bug spray! In the event of inclement weather, we will move into the Dunn Center.

AFTER THE PERFORMANCE: Students will be dismissed to retrieve their luggage from the dorm and go home (sleep!!)

CHECK YOUR TEXTS: We will use the Remind system to make any last minute announcements or schedule changes should the need arise. If you have any questions about Remind, please contact remind@athensdriveband.comremind.

WANT TO HELP? Our chaperones and operations team have been working very hard and would love some extra hands with truck loading on Friday. If you’re interested, please plan to stay after the performance for a few minutes.

Each and every student has come so far this week – please make sure yours knows how proud you are of them. This wonderful band program provides amazing experiences and teaches many life lessons. The students have been supporting each other and making connections throughout the journey. It’s about so much more than the music! They will certainly be looking forward to sleeping in their own beds, eating their favorite foods, and simply enjoying all their home comforts. Enjoy your weekend.
