State Fair Parking

Each year, the Athens Drive Band partners with Gregory Poole to operate parking during the North Carolina State Fair which is one of our largest and most impactful fundraisers. This unique fundraiser generates significant support for the band program, helping fund equipment, travel, instruction, and student opportunities.

Why It Matters

State Fair Parking is one of the band’s largest and most impactful fundraisers each year, providing critical support for the program.

  • Generates significant funding for band operations.
  • Supports equipment, travel, and instruction
  • Helps ensure student participation remains accessible.

How It Works

During the North Carolina State Fair, the Athens Drive Band program partners with Gregory Poole to manage event parking across their property.

Evening and weekend parking serves fair attendees, while weekday shifts focus on managing and protecting employee lots. Volunteers help direct traffic, collect payments, and assist visitors throughout the event.

Volunteer Info

This fundraiser depends on the support of band families and community volunteers.

Volunteers must be 18 years or older, with multiple shifts available throughout the fair. Training and guidance are provided to help everyone feel prepared.
