We have the opportunity to collect money for cars to park in the Gregory Poole Parking lots during the evening and weekend hours of the North Carolina State Fair. We provide security for the employees and the parking lot during weekday work hours. Working the State Fair Parking Fundraiser is for adults 18 or older only, and fulfills one fundraiser shift requirement per shift, earning $40 per weekday shift and $50 per weekend shift (usually 5 hours) for your individual band account. Profits above what is paid out to individual accounts go to the band’s general fund. This is an 11-day event during the NC State Fair.
THANK YOU, GREGORY POOLE, FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT OF THE ADHS BAND!
Workday Information
Bring a folding chair and a jacket as it tends to be chilly in the mornings and evenings. We have walkie-talkies and reflective vests for everybody. A veteran shift leader will show you where the wash room is and provide other miscellaneous information.
Requirements
The age requirement is 18 years or older. A “State Fair Parking Volunteer Agreement” needs to be signed and returned to the State Fair Parking Fundraiser chairperson prior to your first shift. The agreement is located on the Forms page under Fundraiser Forms. Please review the agreement in advance and either bring the signed form with you to your first shift or sign on site when you arrive.

WHERE: Gregory Poole Equipment Company on Beryl Rd
WHY: Historically our LARGEST fundraiser! Gregory Poole has very generously partnered with us for many years!
WHAT: We ensure that customers and employees are the only ones parking in their lots. No fair parking during business hours. After business hours, we can charge fair goers to park in their lots. Price of spots varies based on demand.
HOW: We will have around 300 shifts to fill during the fair dates. Around 36 per day. Day shifts are 6:45a-12n, 11:45a-5p. Night shift is 4:45p-9:30p. You might help with traffic flow, money taking, monitoring for open spaces, ensuring customer/employee parking only. WALKIE-TALKIES will be involved! RAIN OR SHINE!
