All Hands on Deck for the ADHS Band BBQ on October 1st!
Hi band families! It’s almost time for the BBQ at Swift Creek Community Center off Yates Mill Pond Rd on Friday, October 1st. There’s no football game or competition that weekend, so we need your help to make this event a success. The BBQ is one of 3 high priority fundraisers for the year.
How Can You Help?
Spread the Word – Let your friends, family, neighbors, & co-workers know that the BBQ is happening. We’ll be serving up plates of pork BBQ including baked beans, cole slaw, & a roll for $12. We can accept pre-orders on the BBQ page of the Band Website for orders of 5 or more through Wednesday, 9/28. Walk-in orders available from 11am-7pm on the day of. We’ll have some outdoor seating as well as pick-up and curbside availability. The flyer is available HERE. Please post to your social media or share the posts from the band accounts.
Make Desserts – We offer desserts on the day of the BBQ and include them with our pre-orders. Please consider making some desserts (enough for 24) that can be sold for $1 at the event. Brownies, cake slices, cookies, etc. all make great options. Think of this like an individually portioned bake sale. Make sure to wrap each portion in plastic wrap or in a zipper bag so they’re easy to grab and go! Desserts can be dropped off at the community center on Thursday after 3pm.
Deliver Pre-Orders – We don’t have the volume of business orders this year that we usually get, however, we’ll still need folks willing to deliver the lunch pre-orders for us. We’ll have everything ready for you!
Serve Meals at Lunch or Dinner – We needs some folks that can serve up plates at lunchtime and dinnertime. We’ll provide all the safety equipment & aprons – all you need to do is come over to help. Shifts are flexible, but plan to come help out for at least 2 hours. Adults & students are welcome to help!
Help with Set-Up or Clean-Up – We’ll be setting up on Thursday evening and prepping for the next day, so we could definitely use some help with that. On Friday, we stop serving about 7pm and will need help with cleaning up, too.
Place an Order or Come Eat – Does your office like BBQ? Place an order for pick-up and help support the event, even if you have to work on the 1st. We’ll get it ready for you and be waiting curbside when you get there! Come out for dinner with the family, too. This will be a fun opportunity to hang out together.
